When it comes to thinking about a new Apple device, there’s a few sources you’ll turn to but there’s always speculation as to whether these leaks are accurate are not. Apple is notorious about its security and its well known that the company hates leakers but when finding the source of the latest leak about the new iPads, they don’t need to look at all.

In a blunder completely uncharacteristic of the Cupertino based company, Apple accidentally posted a screenshot of the new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 on its iTunes store on Wednesday evening. The leak appeared less than 24 hours before Apple officially unveils the new tablets, presumably alongside some new Mac computers, in a press event later today.

What of the features for the new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3? The leak confirms that both new tablets will come with a TouchID fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button (just like the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S). Another new feature for the iPad range is Burst Mode, which debuted with the iPhone 5S and allows you to touch and hold the camera button to rapid-fire photos in bursts.

Other specs for the new tablets include tweaked designs, a gold colour option, improved camera optics and a better Apple A8X processor. Interestingly the leaked user guides references iOS 8.1 as the OS on the new tablets which means Apple’s first ‘major’ firmware update to iOS 8 will probably launch later today as well.
